With the release of Goldmine Premium 2014.2 and the new Goldmine Web Client, several customers have enquired about where this fits in with earlier products like iGoldmine (essentially a Go-Global product) and the Goldmine Mobile Edition.
From a user’s perspective, here is a simple explanation, which takes into account what device you have for internet access to Goldmine:
If you wish to connect remotely via a PC, iOS or Android Tablet, then we would suggest iGoldmine, as it offers you the full functionality of Goldmine;
If you wish to access Goldmine from your smartphone, then Goldmine Mobile Edition is the best solution.
So, where does the Goldmine Web Client fit in?
Well, this will not work on your smartphone, so if that is your main Goldmine access device, then Goldmine Mobile Edition is the way to go. On the other hand, if you have an iPad or Android Tablet, or a Windows PC, then you have a choice between iGoldmine and the Goldmine Web Client – what differentiates these two is that iGoldmine has a price tag but offers full functionality, whereas the Goldmine Web Client is included with Goldmine Premium at no additional charge, but in this first release is a cut-down version and offers important basic Goldmine functionality.
The Goldmine Web Client is a ‘no install’ product, so very easy to roll out.
Details on the Goldmine Web Client functionality are available here, and you can also download a brochure on Goldmine Mobile here.
